Strata
Twin Mirror is a study of doubles, shot over two nights inside an abandoned chapel on the outskirts of Valencia. Two figures in white stand face to face at the end of the aisle, lit by a single shaft of daylight that cuts through the dust and by a few hundred candles placed by hand along the altar steps. The building had been closed for almost twenty years, and we kept everything as we found it: the broken pews, the stained curtains, the damp on the walls. The idea was to photograph a conversation without words, two people who could be sisters, strangers or the same woman seen twice, and to let the space decide how close or far apart they should feel.
For Strata, the story was built around reflection and repetition. Matching silhouettes, mirrored poses and long silver pieces that only reveal themselves when you look closely. We shot almost entirely in natural light, using smoke to give the beam its shape, and kept the palette cold and green so that the white dresses would glow on their own. There is very little movement in the series and that was intentional: each frame is meant to feel like a held breath, a moment just before something happens. The final edit is short, eight images and a one-minute film, presented as a single sequence rather than as separate campaign shots.
